IPR/S3.5.1 KNX IP Router Secure: Secure Connection and Dual Power
Prioritizing network security, the IPR/S3.5.1 supports both Secure Routing and Secure Tunneling. It provides 5 Secure Tunneling Servers, enabling remote and secure ETS programming or client access over the LAN.
Installation flexibility is enhanced by its dual power options: standard 12–30 V DC auxiliary voltage or PoE (Power over Ethernet), minimizing wiring complexity and power loss (1.5 W).
1. IPR/S3.5.1 KNX IP Router Secure: Encryption and Network Topology
This router ensures the secure and efficient integration of KNX into the IT network infrastructure.
Security and Protocols:
- Security Standard: Adheres to the KNX IP Secure standard, encrypting data on the IP backbone.
- Communication: Uses KNXnet/IP Secure for both Routing (linking KNX lines/areas) and Tunneling (remote access/programming).
- Access Points: Provides 5 Secure Tunneling Servers for simultaneous connections from ETS or visualization clients.
Topology and Connectivity:
- Function: Operates as a fast line and area coupler with full filter table support (groups 0-31).
- IP Flexibility: Supports both fixed IP addressing or automatic allocation via a DHCP server.
- Multicast Control: Allows standard KNX Multicast communication to be switched off, enabling Unicast for up to 10 routers on the network.
2. Technical Details and Compact Installation
A compact and low-power component suitable for professional DIN-Rail mounting.
- Installation: Designed for professional DIN-Rail mounting, occupying just 2 modular spacings (36 mm width).
- Power Options: Accepts auxiliary power from 12 … 30 V DC (which requires a KNX Power Supply) or via PoE (IEEE 802.3af class 1).
- Power Loss: Extremely low power loss of 1.5 W.
