EAE HD100 KNX High Bay Movement Sensor: Detection up to 14m for Industrial Spaces1
The EAE HD100 KNX High Bay Movement Sensor is a robust and highly specialized passive infrared (PIR) detector engineered to provide reliable motion and light control in areas with high ceilings. Specifically designed for mounting heights between 7m and 14m, the HD100 is the ideal solution for large, demanding spaces such as warehouses, industrial halls, conference rooms, and sports facilities.
This sensor integrates movement detection with an ambient brightness sensor to deliver exceptional energy savings through advanced control logic, all powered conveniently directly from the KNX bus line.
1. Extreme Detection Range and Coverage
The HD100’s specialized lens geometry is optimized for high-ceiling installations, offering market-leading coverage:
- High Mounting Height: Recommended for ceiling installation from 7m up to 14m.
- Massive Coverage Area: At the maximum 14m mounting height, the sensor offers a 360-degree detection area with a 25m diameter. This large footprint minimizes the number of sensors required for vast industrial and commercial spaces, reducing installation costs and complexity.
- Parallel Operation: The EAE HD100 KNX High Bay Movement Sensor supports Master/Slave or Master/Master operation, allowing multiple devices to work together to cover exceptionally large or complex areas.13
2. Advanced Multi-Channel Control
Beyond simple switching, the HD100 provides intelligent, multi-channel control over the building’s infrastructure.
- Constant Light Function: The integrated light level sensor continuously measures ambient light and transmits the value to the KNX bus. This allows for constant light regulation, automatically dimming or brightening fixtures to maintain a user-defined Lux level (adjustable from 10 to 1000 Lux and maximizing energy efficiency.
- Corridor Function: This feature provides multi-level lighting control based on the stage of presence: full brightness upon movement, an intermediate dim level “after movement,” and full “no movement” cutoff.
- Independent HVAC Channel: The HD100 provides a separate communication object for controlling heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC), allowing for comprehensive climate management linked to occupancy.
- Flexible Operation: Supports both Fully-automatic and Semi-automatic operating modes, giving users the choice between sensor-exclusive control or manual override via external switches.
- Installation Ease: Includes a Test and Calibration Mode to simplify commissioning and ensure optimal coverage setup.
